He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Edward and Emily L. Wagner Hilgenberg (Meeks); and his siblings, Michal Wagner and Mary Marie "Sue Brown" of Ironton, Ohio.. He is survived by: his former wife Betty Wagner (Lockwood); his son David Wagner (Pam) of Coal Grove; his granddaughter Amanda Wagner of Coal Grove; his stepgrandsons, Wayne Neal of Kitts Hill and Jason Neal of Winchester; his great grandchild Caiden Whitt; and his sister Janie Tufts of Kentucky.
