He was predeceased by: his sister Carolyn Peters. He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Sampsel; his children, Lisa Franco (Frank) of Clyde, Michael Boonie (Nikki) of Clyde and Paul Boonie (Tracy) of Clyde; his grandchildren, Bethanie Taylor (Tony), Jordyn Boonie (Zak), Jonathan Hill (Morgan), Samantha Hill, Nicholas Hill (Shannon), Seth Boonie (Olivia), Brianna Boonie, Ronnie Boonie and Frankie Franco (Jamie); his sisters, Judy Preece of Sterling Colorado and Kathleen Sanchez of Iliff; and his pet Riley.
