He is survived by: his children, Greg Avery of Clyde, James Avery (Deborah) of Hoover, AL and Lisa Sanders (Stephen) of Bealeton, VA; and his grandchildren, Garrett Sanders, Rafe Sanders, Dalen Sanders and Hollis Avery.
