He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Sr. Hackenburg and Ada Hackenburg (Elmes); his son James Hackenburg; and his siblings, Velda Davenport, Norma Adams, Forest Hackenburg, Lester Hackenburg Jr. and Floyd Hackenburg.
He is survived by: his wife Tamara Hackenburg (Ott) of Clyde; and his children, Michael Hackenburg (Melany) of Clyde, John Hackenburg of Clyde, Mark Hackenburg (Betsy) of Clyde and Tina Buchanan of Clyde. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
