It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clyde Edward Carpenter of Clyde, Ohio, who passed away on November 28, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry O. Carpenter and Verna Taylor Carpenter; and his former wife Shirley VanNest Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Linda Kidder Hogue Carpenter; his son Scott Carpenter (Carol); his stepdaughters, Amy McCumsey (Brian) and Molly Walton (Richard); his grandchildren, Vera Carney (Joshua), Megan Carpenter (James Pelton) and Benjamin Carpenter; and his siblings, Howard Carpenter (Phyllis), Betty Simpson (Junior), Edna Paugh (Floyd), Esther Kettlewell (Bill), Thelma Kettlewell (Harry), Martha Schell (Lee) and Judith Coleman (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and out of consideration for family members with fragile health conditions, facial coverings and social distancing will be required during visitation and service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clairsville Church of Christ.
