He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Kaitlynn Danielle Black, Michael Douglas Black Jr. (MJ) and Joseph Edward Black; his parents, Charles E. Black (Patty) and Mona Jaggers Thorpe (Mike); his siblings, Timm Black, Cory Wise (Mike), Sarah Hale and Russell Black; and his child MJ.

“He was an amazing person. His jokes calmed the class and made us feel safe. I never thought the passing of someone I knew for less than five months, would have so much of an impact on my life. Mr. Black wasn’t just a someone. He was a great mentor and friend to his students. I’ll never forget our last day with him. How much he tried to make sure everyone felt seen. Although I’ll never be able to speak to him again, I’ll go through life with his lessons.”
