We are sad to announce that on December 19, 2024, at the age of 68, Sylvia Rivera (Cleveland, Ohio) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Sylvia may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

She was predeceased by: her husband Rudy Nieves; her children, Neftali Nieves (Carmen), Jennifer Nieves (Joel) and David Nieves (Xiomara); and her grandchildren, Rudy, Ruby, Xavier, Jaeliz, Jolaniz, Julitza, Jadah and Jaydier. She is also survived by her family, friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Craciun Berry Funeral Home (7200 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44102). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
