It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth A. Spahlinger in Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Ruth departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Ruth leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Kovach and Cecilia Kovach; and her husband George Walter Spahlinger. She is survived by: her children, Timothy Spahlinger and Laura Pistillo (Bill Burger); her grandchildren, Lauren Downing (Vincent) and Valerie Pistillo (Ray Bruner); and her great grandchildren, Noah Sartain, Alyssa Pistillo, Poppy and Dominic Downing.
