The memory of Rosie L. Terrell in Cleveland, Ohio, born in Memphis, Tennessee, who passed away on February 9, 2025 at the age of 81, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Dockins and Estella Dockins; her husband John Terrell Jr.; her children, John Terrell III and Teresa Hamilton; her siblings, Willie Dockins Jr., Frank Dockins, James Dockins, Joe Nelson and Carrie Peterson; and her great grandchild Kyrie Wright.
She is survived by: her children, Andre Terrell of Athens, George Terrell of Cleveland, Ohio, Gwendolyn Bush of Crawford, Valerie Byrne (Patrick) of Jacksonville and Yolanda Terrell of Athens, Georgia.; and her siblings, Rufus Dockins of Memphis, Arthanial Bailey (Carolyn) of Memphis, Tennessee and Ethel Bailey of Memphis, Tennessee. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the 89th Chapel (2165 E 89th St, Cleveland, OH 44106). A wake was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Star of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church (1567 Crawford Rd, Cleveland, OH 44106). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at the Cleveland Memorial Gardens (4324 Green Rd, Highland Hills, OH 44122).
Rose was also a devoted member of "The Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 16, Cleveland, OH," where she practiced virtues such as obedience, devotion to religious values, fidelity, faith in the Redeemer, and charity.
