“Not much sympathy, just love for a true friend with the love like a brother. We did everything together. Joe had a dollar to get a haircut and wanted us to go see a movie together. Made a deal, I would return bottlers for deposits and would cut his hair myself using aircraft sheet metal sheers, messed up haircut but we went to the movie tried to be together whenever enjoying each others company, kept in touch a long time but always in my best memories. Love for my brother. . .”

“My long life friend Joe, strongest man I ever knew and one of the kindness. We were like brothers or twins growing up, Swimming and bike riding then to motor bikes and to cars. We would swim at the bridges diving from great heights, swimming from one side to the other side. Beaches were segregated we were not allowed. There was a large sandbar in the middle of the bay. We would swim there about eight or ten of us. Two inner tubes in tow with snacks and in case of emergencies, swim and bike races”
