He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Himmel and Charlotte Himmel; his son Jason; and his sister Kathy Lewis (Robert "Bob" Lewis). He is survived by: his wife Rosemary; and his granddaughters, Amelia and Madeleine.
As David had been bravely fighting cancer himself for the past two years, it was his final wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his honor.
