She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Michael Axel; her children, Emily Hartman (Nathaniel) of Dublin, OH and Matthew Axel; her grandchildren, Juniper and Arlo Hartman; her sibling Laurie Levin (Stephen); and her parents, Dr. Louis Helfenbein and Geraldine Helfenbein.
