He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Doat and Juanita Doat; and his brother John Doat. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Doat; his children, Mark Doat and Sharon Carr (Colin Moore); his grandsons, Andy Doat, Austin Doat (Bri) and Cody Carr; his great grandchild Bowen Doat; his sister Barbara Doat; and his nephew Brian Gonzalez.
