He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis J. Cornell and Betty Elizabeth Mitchell Cornell; his wife Glenda J. Hyer; his son Michael O. Cornell; and his siblings, Kathy Cornell and Larry Cornell.
He is survived by: his children, Matthew D. Cornell (Lisa) of Frankfort and Mendy Halcomb (Darin) of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Shelby Jones (Nick), Garrett Cornell, Courtney Cornell, Madison and Marly Halcomb; his great grandchildren, Brynlea and Jayce Jones; and his sister Rita Hooks (Dick).
