He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ellen Hoop (Stevens); and his grandchildren, Jason Hoop, Jr., Mary Kay Harding, Shawn Morrison, Brooke Sparks, Jionni Potter and Jeremiah Davis.

He is survived by: his children, Keith Hoop, Mike Hoop (Debbie), Randy Hoop (Linda), Mary Jo Smith (Jeff) and Kathy Russell (Terry); and his stepsons, Gary Boltenhouse (Darlene) and Dennis Boltenhouse. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
