He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ramsey and Myrtle Ramsey (Speakman); his wife Penny; his brother Nelson Speakman; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Adkins and Meryl Walters.

He is survived by: his children, Ricky Ramsey (Erica), James Ramsey (Shannon), Robert Howell (Deb), Marshall Howell and Susan Post (Dave); and his siblings, John Ramsey, Doug Ramsey, Billie Pollock and Charolette Walters. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
