He was predeceased by: his parents, James Pontius and Martha Pontius; his siblings, Diana and Terry; and his parents-in-law, Margaret and John Gregory.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his sons, Tim Pontius (Jennifer) and Barry Pontius (Tina Vandagriff); his granddaughters, Rachel and Alexandria; his brother-in-law Roger Clarke; his nephews, Kevin Clarke and Chris Clarke; and his niece Kim Speakman (Mary Young).
