She was predeceased by: her parents, Shinyu Tawata and Chie Tawata; her stepmother Haruko Tawata; her siblings, Shipo Tawata and Akemi Tawata; and her son-in-law Ross Edward Deerman.
She is survived by: her husband Fredrick Murta; her daughters, Tina Deerman of Grove City and Amy Poole of Delaware; her grandchildren, C. J., Kira of Grove City, Ethan, Samantha and Lyla of Delaware; and her siblings, Masanoli Tawata, Masahiko Tawata, Shinsei Tawata, Hatsue Teruyo of Okinawa and Keiko Tawata of Okinawa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many friends.
