He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander M. H. and Versia Sykes (Hale); and his wife Mary Jane Sykes (Betz). He is survived by: his children, Steve Sykes (Pam) of Circleville, Byron Sykes (Bonnie) of Denton, Tom Sykes (Willa) of Laurelville and Linda Grate (Don) of Circleville; and his grandchildren, Ryan Sykes (Christina), Rachel Houser (Eric), Russell Sykes (Brit), Megan Wise (Dan), Sarah Henderly, Tim Sykes, Adam Grate (Lizz), Abram Grate (Melissa) and Seth Grate (Brittany). He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hill Funeral Home (24 W Ing St, Kingston, OH 45644). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
