It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William Richard Dawson Sr. in Cincinnati, Ohio, born in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Roscoe Dawson and Emma Frances O'Banion Dawson; his son Anthony Maurice Dawson; his siblings, Mary Jones, Dorothy Ellis, Betty Taylor-Dukes, Frankie Dean, Bessie Norman, Owney Dawson, Emma Dawson, Charles Dawson, Robert Dawson, Earl Dawson, Joseph Dawson and Louis [Joann] Dawson; and his children, William Richard Dawson Jr., James Roscoe Dawson, John Richard Dawson, Raheem Eugene Dawson Sabir and Terry Allen Dawson.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Jean Dawson and Ronald Cornell Dawson; his wife Loretta Alenta Tye; his sister Jacqueline Dawson; and his children, Tanya [Harvey] Woods, Gay Rose Dawson, Kenneth Louis Dawson, Robert Dawson, Roberta Dawson and Quincy [Doneta] Dawson. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Spring Grove Funeral Homes - Blue Spruce Chapel (4389 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45223). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Spring Grove Cemetery (4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45232). A reception will be held on Monday, March 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Zion Global Ministries (9180 Cincinnati Columbus Rd, West Chester Township, OH 45069).
