It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert J. Schmitz (Cincinnati, Ohio), who passed away on February 19, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Valentine A. Schmitz and Julia Schmitz; and his former wife Joan Isabel Schmitz. He is survived by: his wife Mary Anne Schmitz; his sons, Bob, Jr. Schmitz (Jennifer), David Schmitz (Katie) and Ralph Schmitz (Holly); his grandchildren, JP, Alex, Sebastien Schmitz, Liesel, Charles, Max Schmitz, Marcello and Finnegan Schmitz; his siblings, John "Bud" Schmitz (Phyllis) and Dorthea "Deanne" Dillenbeck (Kenneth "Ken"); and his nieces and nephews, John Jr. Schmitz (Kirsten), Anne Lokes (Dave), Karen Schmitz Parks (Dana), Michael Schmitz (Fawn), Kenneth "Ken" Dillenbeck (Johanna), Bruce Dillenbeck, Richard "Winch" Dillenbeck (Caroline) and Robert "Bob" Dillenbeck.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (8815 E Kemper Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music (CCM) in Robert's memory.
