He was predeceased by: his parents, Pinkie Reeves and Gladys Reeves; his wife Rowena Kelly; his children, Melvin Reeves Jr., John T. Barnes, Saundra Barnes and Carlita Reeves; his grandson Vincent Barnes; his niece Deborah Williams; and his nephews, Clark Samuels and Kevin Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Celestine Reeves, Carlton Reeves, Derrick Reeves, James Reeves, Deborah Smith (Richard) and Denise Barnes; his nieces and nephews, Gladys Harris (Horace), Nicholas Morrow (Aletha), Victoria Mincey, Elizabeth Davis (Donald), John Thomas (Kelly), Linda Middlebrooks and Kenneth Kilgore; his nephew-in-law Issac Williams; and his godchildren, Jeffery and Brenda Debose. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, loving great-grand and great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Spring Grove Funeral Homes - Blue Spruce Chapel (4389 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45223). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
