He is survived by: his spouse Mary Kinderman Metzmeier; his children, James Jr. (late Debbie), Julie Turner (late Steve), Lea Ann Wagers and Linda Nix (Wilson); his grandchildren, Tony, Laura, Aubree, Christie, Cynthia, Rachel, Adam and Alex; and his siblings, Mary Frances Kernen, Norene Wessel and Roseann Wiebe (Gordon).
