He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Esther; his children, James Smart (Mary), Mary Mixon, Judy Bartley (Harry), Thomas Smart (Monica Cox), Dale Smart and John Smart; his parents, Gladys Smart Combs and James J. Smart; his grandchildren, Amy Birri (Jeff), Jennifer Madden (Jeremy), Theresa Smart (Mark Ewald), Christopher Smart, Lisa Cooper (Michael), Emily Cranley (Mark) and Sarah Ferrigno (Andy); his great grandchildren, Hannah, Danielle, Ava, Baine, Lillian, Elizabeth, Christopher, Ethan, Jack, Sean and Nicholas; and his siblings, Cathy Volz (Jeff), Jerry Smart (Raeleen), Jack Smart and Joseph Smart.
