He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Ryan Sr. and Clare Angelina Ryan (Meyer); and his siblings, Robert A. Ryan Jr., David Ryan and Ann Ryan Vollman.
He is survived by: his wife Mare; his children, Tara Ryan Busch (Jesse), John Brendan Ryan Jr. "Jay" and Patrick Ryan (Megan); his grandsons, Jackson Busch, James Busch, Flynn Ryan and Brody Ryan; his cousin Mary Pat Pace; his niece Kim Wehling; and also Froschauer. He is also survived by nieces and nephew.
He donated his body to science to study and help advance the understanding Parkinson's Disease.
