He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Tyler and Florence Tyler; his sister Carol L. Shantz; his parents-in-law, Clarence J. and Louise Rebman (Caldwell); and his brothers-in-law, Bruce and Jeff Rebman.

He is survived by: his wife Sherry L. Rebman; his children, Bill Tyler, Jr. and Kristin Morrison (Rod); and his friends, Emmajean, Mike Bennett and Dave Embree.
