Vitura Sommers Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 9, 2020, at the age of 96, Vitura Sommers of Chillicothe, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Josepheus Strickland and Cora Strickland (Newsome); her husband James Sommers of Chillicothe; her children, James Joseph Sommers and Deborah Denise King; her sons-in-law, Willard Simpson, James Forcum and Gary Robbins; and her grandchildren, Vincenzo Somma, Clifford Pelletier, Hannah Mees and Christine Pelletier.
She is survived by: her children, Julia Penwell (Frank), Cheryl Simpson, Mary Forcum, Angela Mees (Brian Wheeler), Elizabeth Robbins and David Sommers; her children-in-law, Linda Sommers and Randy King; her pets, Fritz and Callie; and her siblings, Irvin, Eugene, James Edward, Ezell Strickland, Lela Shaddix, Audrey Baker and Lucille Forbus. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and 5 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
