He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gordon and Francis Dale Kern (Burlile); his parents-in-law, Lamar and Edna Stout; his siblings, Sonia "Sunny" Helmick, Charles and Terry Kern; his brother-in-law Harold "Harry" Helmick; and his son-in-law Brady Franklin Robinson.
He is survived by: his wife Gail Lee Stout; his children, Christine Sylvia Dowen (Scott), Jacqueline Leigh Robinson, Jason Lee and Joshua Lamar (Alissa Putnam); his grandchildren, Rowen Alexandria Robinson, Timothy Michael, Nellie Mae and Joshua Putnam; his siblings, Virginia "Ginny" Proehl (Donald) and Thomas Kern (Marilyn); and his sister-in-law Denise Kern. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, countless friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daughters of the American Revolution for Wreaths Across America, 153 Caldwell Street, Chillicothe, Ohio, 45601, because every deceased veteran should be recognized for the holidays.
