He was predeceased by: his parents, Chalmer E. Bateson and Helen P. Bateson (Garrison); his wife Anna Hader Graves; his son Richard A. Bateson, Jr.; his son-in-law Larry Blaum; his sister Mary Heraldson (Russ); and his brother-in-law William Kaltenbach.
He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Barge (Mark) and Michele Blaum; his grandchildren, Matthew Majusick, Thomas Majusick and Lauren Hieneman (Randall Jr.); his great grandchildren, Randall "Trey" Heineman III and Dahlia Hieneman; and his sister Pamela Kaltenbach. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
