Noni C Nichols Obituary
Lanona "Noni" C. Nichols, 83, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Monday morning, February 20, 2023 at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born on July 12, 1939, in Watertown, South Dakota, daughter of the late Lester and Evelyn (Blowers) Sterling. In May 1988, she married Emmitt Nichols, who preceded her in death on August 10, 2012.
Surviving is her beloved daughter, Patti Immell; a step-daughter, Janet (Robert) Stulley; her grandchildren, Brian Allen, Kurt (Sara Diehl) Allen, and Suzie Diehl; her great-grandchildren whom she adored, Alessea, Gavin, Kambree, Gage, and Kelley; two lifelong best friends, Ruth Ann Spindler, and Joanne Ford; longtime Pastor and close friend, Roger (Cheryl) Webb; as well as numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whom she loved. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a beloved great-granddaughter, Samantha Allen, two siblings, Lee Sterling and Marilyn "Chick" Harms, and a step-son, John (Becky) Nichols.
Noni was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1957. She went on to attend beauty school in Louisville, Kentucky, where she used those skills to further her career in the beauty industry. She had several salons throughout the years and even taught locally at the beauty school in Chillicothe. Noni also spent time working for Wear Ever Aluminum in Chillicothe, and Mills Pride where she eventually retired. She was a member of the Richmond Dale Church of God and also a member of the Liberty Township Auxiliary. In her free time, she loved being outdoors working in her flower beds and on her landscaping.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at the Richmond Dale Church of God.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Haller Funeral Home to help with expenses.
