June C. Duvall Ginther Obituary
June C. Duvall Ginther, née Crago, 88, of Chillicothe, Ohio, born June 30, 1934 in Ross County entered her heavenly home on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 at Traditions in Chillicothe. She was the daughter of Arthur H. Crago and Carrie B. née Dempsey, Crago of Chillicothe. She was married to Howard F. Duvall (d. 1977) on Sept. 11, 1965 and to Louis (Zeb) Ginther (d. 1994) on June 17, 1978.
June grew up on a farm on Ginger Hill Road and graduated from Southeastern High School where she held the record for the women's fastest 100-yard dash for 21 years. She graduated from St. Joseph School Of Practical Nursing in Albuquerque, N M; East Mississippi Junior College, and Radiology School in Charleston, WV. She worked for over 48 years (mostly for Adena Health) as a registered radiological technician.
In 1965 she received the Outstanding Woman of America Honor for her work in Civil Defense as well as her work in 4-H, Methodist Youth Fellowship, and the Red Cross. June worked in 4-H as a member and advisor for 26 years, and was a member of Chillicothe Evening Lioness.
June was a devout Christian who faithfully loved her Lord Jesus and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents & husbands; her brothers, Lt. Col. Ralph D. Crago and A. Gene Crago, PHD; stepdaughter, Denise Ginther; two grandchildren, LCPL. Aaron Reed and Matthew Reynolds; and great-grandchild, Gavin Parmeter. Surviving are her son, Larry (Sara) Duvall, Chillicothe; step-children Mike (Retha) Ginther & Sandy (Ron) Smith of Chillicothe; Rhonda Ginther of Columbus; 8 grandchildren — Emily (Jake) Riggs, Piketon; Jill (Justin) Parmeter, Myrtle Beach, SC; Sarah (Todd) Dunkle, Adam Reynolds & Mike Ginther, Jr., Columbus; Melissa (Andy) Hatmaker & Jonathan Gilliam, Chillicothe; Matthew (Susan) Reed, Seattle, WA; niece Carrie D. Crago, Swansea, IL; nephews Charles (Patricia) Crago, MD, Westbrook, CT & Ralph (Jill) Crago, Jr, Gilbert, AZ and many great-grandchildren who she loved dearly.
June has donated her body to Ohio University for medical research. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Chris Brown. The family was assisted locally by the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Tabernacle Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Ohio, The Wounded Warrior Project or the Ross County 4-H.
