He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick L. Menefee and Mabel V. Johnson Menefee; his wife Delores Marie Jackson Menefee; his grandchild Kim; his siblings, Elizabeth Mitchell (William), Willa Jean Newsome (Elmer), Jacqueline Hairston (Salem), Lavon Menefee (E. Jane) and Freddie Menefee; and his brother-in-law Lawrence Brown.
He is survived by: his sons, Andre of Chillicothe, Jan Jr. of Chillicothe and Ahmad of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Olivia and D'Andre; and his sisters, Anne Menefee and Rosemary Brown of Chillicothe. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
