He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harley James Hinton, Sr. and Elsie Nungester; his wife Denise Ann Hinton (Pollock); his children, Steven Riley Hinton, Harley Hinton III (D. J. Sheppard) and Amber Leach (R. J.); his grandchildren, Logan, Autumn Hinton, Eli, Kennedi and Kyra Leach; his siblings, John Hinton (Cynthia), Scott Hinton (Marcia), Jeff Hinton (Cindy), Terry Hinton (Kim), Mike Mets, James Mets, Cheryl Thompson, Darlena Hensley (Guy), Flo Cleary (Phil) and Jamie Horn; his nephew Case Pollock; his father-in-law Harvey Pollock (Betty); his siblings-in-law, Tim Pollock (Sonya), Deborah Ebright and Amy Rooks (Danny); his friends, Garry Garrison (Cathy) and Eric Garrison (Kendal); his grandparent Riley Nungester (Ruth); and his uncle Tom Nungester. He was also cherished by numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, or to the Tabernacle Baptist Church in his honor.
