He was predeceased by: his father Walter Smith; his sister Garnet Ramey (Chester); his nephew Gary Ramey; and his brothers-in-law, Paul, Sam, Carl and Richard Basye.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Basye; his nieces, Sherry Ramey of Chillicothe and Jerri Ramey of Chillicothe; his siblings-in-law, Eleanor Bell (Robert) of Campobello, S. C., Virginia Carr of Chillicothe, Rodger Basye (Carol) of Frankfort and Michael Basye (JoAnne) of Chillicothe; and his pet Paris.
