With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deborah Jo Smart of Chillicothe, Ohio, born in Portsmouth, Ohio, who passed away on June 6, 2024 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Fannin and Doris Fannin; her stepmother Wendlene Fannin Perry; her sister Carol Neal; her grandparents, Harlan, Bessie Fannin, Oscar and Lillian Fannin; her aunts, Reva and Geneva Fannin; her brothers-in-law, Donald Thoroughman and Russell Morgan; her parents-in-law, Roy and Helen Smart; her sister-in-law Virginia Smart; and her nephew Johnny Smart.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Smart; her children, Matthew Smart (Rozella Ely) and Jodie Smart of Chillicothe; her grandsons, Colton Scaggs (Chanson Smart) and Joe; her siblings, Phyllis Thoroughman of Portsmouth, Sandra Tyree (Steve) of West Liberty, KY, Colleen Payton (Robert) of Sandy Hook, KY, Donald Fannin (Tina) and Danny Fannin (Stephanie) of West Liberty, KY; her siblings-in-law, Ron Neal of Wheelersburg, OH, John Smart (Nancy) of Chillicothe, George Smart (Kathleen) of Marysville, OH and Betty Morgan of Frankfort, OH; her close friends, Caryl Price, Debbie Kester, Edie Kallas, Lou Ann Tribbey, Pam Casler, Paula Hollerud, Phyllis Potts and Rhonda Crace; and also William Scaggs of Chillicothe. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
