He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Cheeseman and Sarah Ellen Cheeseman (Blaine); and his siblings, Rebecca Broaddus, Martha Lacey, David, James, Richard and Luther Cheeseman.

He is survived by: his wife Karen S. Ward; his daughters, Freda L. Baker, Christina S. Wolford (Daniel) and Roberta E. Stonerock (Clyde); his grandchildren, Sarah G. Hebb (Marvin), Kaitlyn E. Wolford, Gabrielle R. Wolford, Danielle L. Wolford and Brennan L. Stonerock; his great grandchildren, Audrey and Jayden Hebb; and his brother Timothy Cheeseman.
