He was predeceased by: his father Frank Prenger; his son Joseph; his brother Leo (Katherine Prenger); his wife Edna Prenger; and his parents-in-law, Lawrence, Elizabeth Bruggeman, Leroy Bruggeman, Evelyn, Herb Sutter, Lavern, Ginny Bruggeman, Ernest Muhlenkamp, Bernice Bruggeman and Richard Buschur.
He is survived by: his children, Linda, Ben Welsch of Coldwater, Elaine and Leon Heitkamp of Maria Stein; his daughters-in-law, Rita (Dave Pedersen), Lisa Prenger of St. Henry, Teresa (Randy Roeckner), Sandy (Sam Hartke), Connie Prenger of St. Rose, Julie (Jon Bergman), Becky (Jason Ranly) and Tammie Prenger of Chickasaw; and his parents-in-law, Annella Franzer, Hilda, Ben Schwieterman, Don, Mary Prenger, Luella Prenger, Kate Bruggeman, Janet Muhlenkamp, Margie Buschur and Marlene Calhoun. He is also survived by 44 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren.
