He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph (Linda) and Dorothy; and his brothers, Ralph (Debbie) and Christopher. He is survived by: his wife Rachel Simpson; his daughter Meghan Ann Butler (Matthew); his grandchildren, Pearl and Ellis; his siblings, David (Ellen), William (Sheree), Tim, Curt (Eva), Rebecca Olsen (Lynn) and Linda Stemmerman (Larry); and his pets, Pete and Teg. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and their children.
Donations in Joel's honor to the University of Utah Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah, or to the Evanston Animal Shelter, Evanston, Wyoming.
