He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Novak and Rose Novak; his brother Robert; and his nephew Rob. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Cooper-Novak; his children, Sarah Payne (David) of Chesterland and John Novak (Sarah) of Dublin; his granddaughters, Emma, Aria and Gillian Payne; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Novak, Arthur "Rick" Cooper and Sharon Hines (Edward).
