He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Shoemaker and Hazel Shoemaker (Curfman); his wife Katie Shoemaker; his parents-in-law, Paul E. and Jewel Martin (Neville); and his brothers-in-law, Arthur Cross and Ron Wilbur.
He is survived by: his stepson Michael Martin; his daughter-in-law Sharon Shoemaker (Exline); his grandchildren, Kaci Lynn Cooke (Jacob) and Briggs Jacob Shoemaker (Rachael Smith); his great grandchildren, Bodie Martin Cooke of Thurman and Asa Matthew Cooke of Thurman; his sisters, Hilda Cross of Athens and Doris Wilbur of Hamden; his close friend Mary Jo Barringer of Coolville; and his grandson Jacob. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
