He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Fitch and Margaret Lester Fitch; his wife Carole Oxyer Fitch; his siblings, Ray Fitch, Faye Halley and Etta Furst; and his grandsons, Tyler Gaus and Derick Johnson.

He is survived by: his daughters, Carole Lee Smith (John) of Cheshire, Cheryl Johnson (Levi DuPerow) of Cheshire and Candace Morrison (Andrew) of Cheshire; his sister Bess Culpepper of Gallipolis; his grandchildren, Jonathan Gaus (Hailey), Brittany Burd (Chris), Michael Johnson, Brooklyn Sizemore and Braxton Morrison; his great grandchildren, Kailyn Rife, Chayton Burd and Scarlett Gaus; and his fishing buddy Carl Madden. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
