It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Kay Hawthorne of Chesapeake, Ohio, born in Huntington, West Virginia, who passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Slonie Rucker and Mary Geneva Rucker; her husband Jack Hawthorne; and her aunts, Carolyn "Duney" Moore and Erma Lee Riley.

She is survived by: her children, Jeff Hawthorne (Faith), Dalvin Hawthorne (Wendi), Brett Hawthorne (Brenda) and Kevin Hawthorne (Kristi); her grandchildren, Kortney Walters (Josh), Stephen Hawthorne, Lindsey Baldwin (Austin) and Grant Hawthorne; her great grandchildren, Eli Hawthorne, Khloe and Korbin Walters; her brother Tim Rucker; her cousin Judy Noland; and her close friends, Marlene Pannell and Kay Wright.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
