He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lee and Rita Ann; his brother Andrew Welch; and his grandson James Kankula. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Welch; his daughters, Laura Holtz (Ryan) of Elyria, Diane Kankula (Scott) of Chardon and Karen Mucic (Nikola) of Montville; and his grandchildren, Scott Jr. Kankula (Savannah), Megan Kankula, Natalie Kankula and Everlee Mucic. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Burr Funeral Home & Cremation Services (116 South St, Chardon, OH 44024). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Church (401 North St, Chardon, OH 44024).
