He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Robert Rasor; and his siblings, Bernard Shaffer, Carter Shaffer, Norma Johnson and Ruby Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Joan Shaffer (Drushal); his children, Susan Rasor, Larry Shaffer (Lynn) and Ed Shaffer (Julie); and his sister Edith Shaffer. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great-granddaughters.
