He was predeceased by: his father Phillip Bertman; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Strader and Sherri Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Michelle Bertman (Strader); his children, Nathan and Taylor; his mother Noreen Bertman; his siblings, Lisa Hoffman and Richard Bertman (Kathleen Shea); and his brother-in-law Scott Strader (Sharon). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A shiva was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM and on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Social Room at the Stratton House (22655 Chagrin Blvd, Beachwood, OH 44122). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Adam Hall Community Center (11455 E Washington St, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023).
