She was predeceased by: her spouse Thomas H. Short, Sr.; her child Thomas H. Short, Jr.; and her siblings, Carol Harding Safer, Barbara Fake and William Gibb.
She is survived by: her children, David A. Short (Deborah Horn) and Amy J. Beltano (Beth); her grandchildren, Robert (Deena), Katherine (Belem), Amanda (Jeremy), Peter (Dana), Kellen, Nathaniel and Evan; and her brother Robert Gibb.
Phyllis was an avid knitter who donated thousands of hats to those in need. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Phyllis' memory be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 5200 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst, OH 44124.
