He was predeceased by: his wife Joan; his sister Beverly Kachelmeyer (Carl); and his parents, Walter Spoerl and Viola Spoerl. He is survived by: his children, Robert R., Kimberly Sekardi (Barry) and Maryellen Weimert (David); his grandchildren, Shaun, Travis, Jordan and Stacey; his great grandchildren, Grayson and Jeremiah; his brother-in-law Paul Wanish (Alicia); and his niece Diana Petermann. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, and family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
