She was predeceased by: her parents, John Schmitz and Elizabeth Schmitz; her brother Peter Schmitz (Sue); her niece Melissa B. Long; and her nephew James E. Wimsatt III.

She is survived by: her husband Robert Wimsatt; her children, Douglas Wimsatt and Erin Wimsatt; her sisters, Pamela Long (Bob) and Patricia Melick (Mike); and her siblings-in-law, Jim Wimsatt (Patty), Bill Wimsatt (Mary), Joe Wimsatt (Joan), Beverly Martin, Lynn Cull (Rick) and Cathy Sayer (Tim). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
