With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Edward Staten (Centerville, Ohio), born in Salem, West Virginia, who passed away on January 30, 2020 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond Staten and Wilma Staten (Burnside); his close friend Gerri Moore; his children, Stephanie Breeze (Deron), Cindy Mazzaro (Matt) and Greg Staten (Tiffany); his grandchildren, Bryan (Heather), Jared, Nick, Ellie, Joey, Reese and Eli; his great grandchildren, Ruby and Sawyer; and his siblings, Karen McKinney (Tim) and David Staten (Carol). He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

“John was my oldest and best fiend. We met in 1961, shared an apartment and a life which grew in different directions but continued to grow in depth and love, respect, and challenge. Our friendly competition ran from chess to mensa with constantly beating me. With his passing a large part of my heart went with him. He described me me as his minister and so i commend him to our lord. Rev., dr. Daniel e. Forsee”
