We are sad to announce that on February 23, 2024, at the age of 81, James Stewart Holmes of Centerville, Ohio, born in Indianapolis, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Holmes and Evelyne Holmes; his sister Alison Roberts; and his in-laws, Roy and Martha Eberhard.

He is survived by: his wife Melinda Eberhard Holmes; his daughters, Molly Girolamo (Todd), Leslie Backus (Chris) and Sara Klekar (Ryan); his grandchildren, Ted, Ben, Jon, Stewart, Kate, Sam, Caroline and Jack; his brothers, Tom (late Barb) and Rick Holmes (late Vickie); and his brother-in-law Roy Jr. Eberhard (Laurie).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
